Last week , I worked on a “Joomla VirtueMart” Project. The requirement of project is to create new Payment Module for Paypal UK Pro, following the website payments pro UK and XMLPay Documents.

At the beginning, everything looked good in test mode (test server) . Yeah ! All Transaction Done , Transaction Status , AVSResults, CVResults, StatusCode, etc. were in Response Message but when I switched to live mode, it responded to many errors

All errors I had got:

- Card Start not valid. (4 char.)

- CardStart and CardIssue Required. (CardIsssue still isn’t required in other Payment Gateways)

- Currency Error with Amex/Discovery Card:

The biggest problem was Currency Error with Amex Card because I was following XMLPay document and it said “allow AMEX” and in test mode amex card type worked well , result code = 0 and message is Approved but it was still different in live mode . I always got the error message “Invalid or unsupported currency code: 10558-Your processor is unable to process the Card Type in the currency requested. Please try another card type.” , Hmm I wasted a lot of time to find out currency code but it was the same and didn’t help anything. Too tired , I was going to search about “Amex and PaypalUK” and they said “Amex not allowed in PayPalUK” . Too tired with PaypalUK . Finally I finished the Paypal Pro UK module for Virtuemart without AMEX support.

And after this project all I had got is:

* Test Server of PaypalUK so bad and more different than Live Server.
* XMLPay Document too poor for development.
* Manager Paypal UK is the same.

I wish Paypal WPP UK would upgrade their system like Paypal WPP US version.

Looking forward to the next Paypal WPP UK upgrade.
