Having been part of the organising team for all three previous All Star Bash events, SmartOSC’s Australian Regional Manager, Adrian Wakeham, was honoured and excited to join the 2019 ceremony as a sponsor, joining forces with Senior Account Manager, Chuyen Do and our partner Shout Agency.
Welcomed into Margaret Court Arena at Melbourne Park by energetic Brazilian drummers, Chuyen and Adrian stopped for the obligatory photo in front of the media wall, featuring the names of retail brands who had made the 2019 Top 100 Online Retailer list.
The nearly 600 guests were ushered into the playing arena - taking their seats at their tables. Amidst the buzz of excited chatter, industry friends old and new met up in their finest evening wear, the lights dimmed, and the now-legendary introductory video flickered onto the big screens in the auditorium.
Previous winners including Adore Beauty, Tiny Me and Catch reminisced on how the awards had impacted their lives and businesses. The MC, Australian sportscaster Hamish McLachlan masterfully controlled proceedings from then on, introducing the Platinum sponsor and then Power Retail’s Founder Grant Arnott to the stage to say a few words about the scrupulous process of selecting the top 100 list and its winners.
More networking time before the final round of awards was announced as the dessert buffet was set up - finally the big moment: for the second year in a row: Woolworths were announced as the No. 1 Australian online retailer for 2019.

Then, the roof of the stadium opened to the night sky as the DJ cranked up the tunes to fill the dancefloor. However, the night was not yet over - as the lights came up to close the Dinner, guests were invited to collect their goodie-bags, which contained a copy of the newly published 2019 E-Commerce Leaders’ Playbook. Then the night owls and other party animals loaded onto coaches to be whisked away to a funky Rooftop Bar nearby for the After Party, which continued long into the night.
