A leading investment firm headquartered in Singapore, managing a portfolio exceeding one billion dollars, sought to modernize its data infrastructure. Facing growing demands for advanced analytics and real-time reporting, the company aimed to migrate from QLIK to Snowflake to address performance and scalability challenges.

Challenges

Targeted solutions for

Limited Data Storage & Reporting Capabilities

QLIK’s existing infrastructure struggled to meet rising requirements for scalable storage, real-time analytics, and high-performance reporting.

Need for Modern Data Platform

The company required a more agile and robust platform that could support large datasets, automate data processes, and integrate seamlessly with contemporary tools.

SOLUTIONS

Our tools for success

Migrating to Snowflake would unlock powerful data warehousing capabilities, including elastic scalability, faster query performance, and enhanced compatibility with modern BI tools, ultimately enabling more sophisticated and efficient data analysis.

Query Transformation for Platform Compatibility

We converted legacy QLIK queries into SQL, building equivalent tables and data models within Snowflake. This ensured that the new system mirrored the original’s reporting logic while unlocking performance improvements.

Automated Data Validation

A Python automation script was developed to connect to both Snowflake and QLIK. It downloaded and compared data sets, validating consistency between platforms. Results were stored on both SharePoint and local drives for transparency and traceability.

Maximizing Snowflake’s Capabilities

By leveraging Snowflake’s scalable storage and high-speed query engine, we resolved QLIK’s data handling limitations. Seamless integration with modern analytics tools also positioned the company for future growth in data maturity and governance.
